Key Background:

Oslo-based AI-native workspace startup, Tana, has secured €13.6 million in a Series A funding round aimed at enhancing its AI agents and voice-powered workflow capabilities. The round was led by Tola Capital, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, North zone, Alliance VC, and first minute capital. This funding brings Tana’s total investment to €24.3 million.

Founded in 2021 by Tarjei Vassbotn, Olav Kriken, and Grim Iversen, Tana is designed to streamline knowledge work through an innovative combination of AI-driven tools. The platform integrates a knowledge graph, object-based note-taking, and customizable AI agents to reduce the gap between idea generation and execution. Tana’s technology allows users to transform unstructured data into structured output within seconds, enhancing productivity.

Vassbotn, a former Google product and AI expert, highlighted the inefficiencies in current productivity tools, stating, “With AI, we can solve this, but only by rethinking the way we approach knowledge work.” During its early phase, Tana garnered significant interest, with over 160,000 people joining its waitlist and more than 30,000 users testing the platform. Notably, over 80% of Fortune 500 companies have shown interest in the product.

The company’s signature feature, Supertax, leverages object-oriented programming concepts to instantly convert raw notes and voice recordings into structured data, enabling swift AI workflows. Tana’s vision has attracted early support from notable investors and industry figures, including Lars Rasmussen (Google Maps), Arash Ferdowsi (Dropbox), and Siqi Chen (Runway). The platform positions itself as a key tool in navigating the future of dynamic, AI-powered work environments.
